'00 Accent Transmission(?) Problem
I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent, automatic transmission. I was driving down the road yesterday and at about 60 MPH, the car shuttered. Since then, it shutters every time you reach about 55 MPH. Most of the time, it runs fine in first gear, shifts to second, but then won't go out of second. Other times, it feels as if it's stuck in second, has no acceleration from 0 MPH, until it reaches around 25 MPH, or around the spot where 2nd gear would kick in normally.
I've been reading online about this and I'm curious as to whether this might be a serious transmission problem, or if it can be cheaply fixed. It will make the difference between scrapping or not scrapping this car.
The only other warning is a CEL, but it's on constantly because of the way I had the catalytic converter "fixed". Any idea what codes the computer would throw back if I hooked it up to a diag-machine?

The only other warning is a CEL, <---- scan it and see what is stored..

Probably a 1529 for the TCM wanting to use the MIL, maybe an 0722 output speed.. inspect the speed sensor value, replace if out of spec.. then install program #18 either way to update the TCM for VSS Noise..
