Default 02 GL 1.6 starting problems

I have an 02 Accent GL with 140K miles. Last summer, I noticed problems starting when it rains. Once the weather dried up, it would start and run rough with a blinking CEL. I hooked up the OBDII and it read a PO302 (Cyl 2 misfire) code. Since it only happened occasionally on rainy days (and I was unemployed), I ignored it. Recently it started acting up on overcast and humid days. I replaced the plugs with no effect. I figured it was the coil pack and one day when it wouldn't start, I dried the coil pack with a hair dryer and it started right up. I now have a new coil pack on the way. However, I've read that coil packs generally fail when it's warm. Is there a possibility it could be the crankshaft position sensor? If not, what else might it be?

coilpacks fail when its warm?? who told you that nonsense?? dampness does it. a test: while the car is running mist a ****load of water on the coils with a spraybottle and see if you can get them to fail. coils sounds like a good diagnosis for now. some parts stores will even test them if you bring them in. in canada, partsource will. not sure elsewhere.

yes crank pos sensor is a possibility, common with these cars unfortunately. not a major widespread failure but its known to happen. eliminate those coils first, you have new coils on the way.
