08 Accent Clutch Issue

Picked up this car today for my niece. I test drove it for her and had no issues. Had no problems with it today for the first 15 miles or so and then all of a sudden the clutch started slipping. Pedal engagement is almost at the top of the pedal. You can be driving in any gear and the RPM will increase without increase in speed. It eventually got to the point that we could smell it too. I don't know anything about these cars. It looks like the brakes and clutch share a master and it's full. I don't see any leaks. I know this car sat for a while. We bought it from a military family and the owner is deployed. Is it possible the system just needs bled? Or maybe a new master from sitting? The previous owner claims the clutch was replaced about a year ago. I have no proof but I also don't have any reason to doubt him. 117,xxx miles. Thanks

The clutch pedal should have some of what we call "Free ply". Like about an inch before you feel any resistance when starting to depress the clutch pedal.
If there is no free ply, that could prevent the clutch from applying completely and that will allow the clutch assy to slip and destroy itself. A clutch adjustment may save the assy if it is not too far gone.

There is almost no free play. I don't see an obvious way to adjust the clutch and since it's hydraulic, I assumed it wasn't adjustable. Is there a way to adjust it?
