09 accent keless entry

I recently had some body work done on my 2009 Accent, and now that I have gotten my car back the remote does not honk on the second press of the lock button. My mom had this problem with her vehicle (not a hyundai) and the dealership just hit a few buttons on her remote and voila, it honks. However my Hyundai dealership is telling me it needs to be reprogrammed. It locks the car just fine but I want the honk. Any way I can resolve this on my own?

Do the lights flash when you use the remote?

Yes, the lights flash when using the remote.

Then it probably doesn't need to be reprogrammed.

Something to check: Does the horn work?

And you can't just press the horn button on the steering wheel because that horn (actually 2) are different from the alarm horn. SO do this:
- roll down the drivers window
- close the drivers door and lock the car with the fob
- reach in the open window, unlock the door and open it
Does the alarm horn blow? If not, the horn itself is probably the problem. Either it's broken, disconnected or the wire to the horn is damaged.

The alarm horn did not go off when I did this. Would you say this is probably due to the damage from the collision and the repair shop just didn't catch it?

Yes. Take it back to them and show them.
