Default 2003 Accent transaxle removal

I've been trying to replace the clutch on my 2003 Accent 1.6l DOHC. I've been going off a Haynes manual, which is sometimes too general to be useful.

The manual tells me to remove the starter motor before removing the transaxle, but on this model it seems to be hidden behind the intake manifold etc... I'm wondering if I disconnect the cables to the starter if I can just leave it attached?

Thanks

did you get your transaxle out? Starter does have to come loose.

Yeah, I had to drain the radiator and disconnect a bunch of hoses to get to the starter, but I did get it out in the end. Thanks.
