2007 Accent Hatchback Driver's Door Latch Cable

I've tried the search function and haven't found what I need. So, time to post.

The door latch cable broke and all I can find is the complete latch assembly with cables attached. It seems I can't simply buy the cable by itself.(?) To me, this is BS. I don't need the $70-100 assembly--all I need is the $15 cable.

Has anyone found a source for this? Thanks in advance.

Maybe this is the part ??
Release Cable - Hyundai Accent truck - 81280-1E000
I know that is the sedan but can't find one for the hatchback
Maybe the same?? IDK.

Google number with Hyundai Accent
Should bring up source

That particular part is for the trunk lid cable, which is completely different.

I have seen door latch cables for other models of Hyundai but the web pages state that these parts are for very specific models and years that do not include my car. I have been unable to find the part number for what I need via Google.

Trunk lid cable for the lock or hatchback cable for the lock ... looks like similar place and use
Suggest you try it or just go to dealership and ask for part that fits your car
Or try Hyundaioemparts.com
good luck

I guess I didn't explain the problem very well. The part I need is for the driver's door, not the rear hatch or trunk.

That part 81310-1E040 only comes as an assembly.
If you want just the cable then I would suggest going to a pull a part junk yard
Hope you can find it and take it apart.

Amazon maybe .. around 60 to 100 bucks plus shipping
Ebay maybe .. around 40 to 100 bucks plus shipping

Sometimes there is another option and in this case worth considering,
You might get the correct part number for your particular vehicle (according to VIN) from your Hyundai dealer then see if you can obtain it from whomever you choose.
Purchasing parts on line can seem attractive because of price, however, the problems received when they send the incorrect parts kinda tips the scale in the other direction and all of a sudden the problems are not worth it.
Just love that expression, "Do it right and do it once".

Thanks, folks. I exhausted all options, including the local pick-&-pull yard. I found a car at the yard and they wanted $67 for the cable. Laughable. I bought a genuine Hyundai factory assembly online for $65. If the local dealership had had it in stock then I'd have considered paying their markup just to finish the job and move on. But, they didn't have it and I was going to have to wait, anyway.

Hope you confirmed the part was what you needed?

Good luck
