2007 Hyundai Accent won't start
Changed the battery in my 2007 accent, the battery was put in backwards then turn around the right way. Now my car won't start. The lights come on etc and it cranks but won't start. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid it might be a very expensive fix...help please

I did a little search and found this by Rod-Knox:
Did you turn the key with the battery connected wrong?
Reversing the battery connections is not too uncommon. If the key is off the damage is often just fusible links and fuses and the alternator. If, however, the key is on a great deal of damage can be done. Many relays, the computer, the ignitin switch, etc. If the starter was engaged, it too might have been damaged. And there is the possibility that wires, anyhwere in the harnesses, have damaged insulation but won’t short out until some future time. The McParts stores that install batteries have all paid dearly on occasion for their efforts at “free” customer service.

Oooops. This indeed might become an expensive repair. Check all the fuses, any fusible links. Have the alternator checked. Kind of going from the cheap parts to the more expensive ones.
This may have damaged the computer too.
I wish you good luck!

First thing to do is to check all the fuses and fusible links.
Have done this to an Elantra.
Main fusible link blown and radio and compartment fuse blown.
Head lights refused to turn on. Radio shorted out.
Replaced radio and stalk headlight switch.
Get it to start before replacing alternator.
Alternator not needed to start engine.
