2009 Accent, connecting aux

Hi all,

I recently acquired a used 2009 Accent. It came with a radio that doesn't seem to have an aux connection (Part no: 96100-1E481AR). However, the car has an aux port! Nothing happens when i plug an audio input into the aux port. The radio seems to be working fine -- I get AM, FM, and haven't checked the CD player yet. Any thoughts on how i can get the aux to play to the speakers with this radio? Am happy to hack :) (and yes, i could buy an FM transmitter but i think it'd be more fun to have a more elegant solution without wires all over the dash. But if i can't figure it out, a transmitter it shall be). Thanks for your advice!

Doesn't the radio require it to be put intoAUX mode in order to play music through the speakers??

Hi avisitor,

Yes, it does. Which is why i'm looking for a hack :)

I've been trying this so far
which piggybacks the AUX L and R channels onto the CD input when you insert a blank CD. We'll see if it works -- fingers crossed!
