2011 Accent Automatic Reliability

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently looking at purchasing a 2011 Accent SE automatic 3dr hatchback with 55k miles. Can anyone give me information on how reliable the automatic transmissions are? Thanks!

I also found a 2011 manual GS but it has 117k miles for $3,500. The automatic is $6,000.

2009 Accent SE is Solid!

My wife and I bought it in 2014 with about 40K on bit. Now it has 73K. One battery, a starter, and lower ball joints and stabilizer links. Not bad at all! Reliable and comfortable in the MN winters, and plenty cool in the summer.
No complaints!

Do you know if the 2011 has a 4 speed auto, or 6 speed?? Not sure when Hyundai upgraded to the 6 speed. My little 2004 has the 4 speed. It failed catastrophically at around 56K, replaced with a remanufactured unit, and I'm still driving it today at 187K.

Asking too much for either transmission. Our manual 2008 (2006 to 2011 series) Accent has 148,000 miles & runs marvelously(MPG as high as 48MPG with ethanol-free gasoline). However, the timing belt (along with water pump?) has a scheduled change every 60,000 miles(may extend to 70,000miles?), which progressively gets more expensive(now $400+). For the first time, our clutch & for the 2nd time, our electronic ignition coils, have just been changed. By the way, the new Hyundai Accent clutch, feels wonderfully superior to the original very nice clutch. Have changed the standard size tires from 175x70x14 inch to 205x65x15 inch tires. Handling & braking are superior & rpms at 60MPH, have dropped 260! Just excellent.

The 2012 Accent series began the use of 6speed automatic & 6speed manual transmissions.
