Thanks and thanks for posting your solution. I clipped the zip-tie securing the harness to that bracket which must have relieved the pressure on whatever wire is shorting. I think I will be able to limp it home this evening but for now I abandoned it in a grocery store parking lot until I have someone follow me home. Were you able to see bare wires within that bundle? It's a tight spot and not sure how I can examine it close enough.

That wasn't my car, but you should be able to feel the gouge in the harness.
If you tape it with electrical tape at the gouge, and reposition the harness away from the bracket it should be reliable again |
