Our new 2013 Accent makes an annoying buzzing sound coming from dashboard during acceleration. Hyundai service said it is normal and comes from fuel pump mounted on firewall. Does anyone else have this problem or do they just don't want to fix the real problem? I never had a car that made this noise during acceleration.

 

Find a different dealer. The fuel pump isn't on the firewall.

 

I have heard a buzzing sound as well from our new accent but its not loud enough IMO to be annoying. I took it as the normal engine humming. Maybe that's because I usually have my music turned up a bit when driving. Tomorrow i will turn the music off and drive for a few miles more to see if its really loud.

 

Okay, I took a few days to check myself and the buzzing I heard was just the road noise from the tyres on the tarmac. Maybe the tarmac in yur area has grooves across it. This can contribute to the noise you are hearing. Just my 0.002 cents.

 

The all season tires your accent is equipped with can be a bit noisy, once you change your tires from the stock ones to better ones you'll hear the difference.
