you will have to remove timing belt

I'd consider the water pump an intermediate level repair job on an Accent. If you are brand new to working on cars, this may not be a task that you want to undertake. Tub is right... It's under the timing belt. The timing belt is one job you DO NOT want to do incorrectly. Also, if you are going to take the timing belt off, you might as well replace it while you're at it.

Pull up your vehicle on the HMA website and then look at the following:
Engine Mechanical System > Timing System > Timing Belt > Repair procedures
Engine Mechanical System > Cooling System > Water pump > Repair procedures

If your water pump has a coolant inlet pipe on the back, you'll need to purchase a replacement o-ring along with the water pump gasket.
