Anyone ever try removing the headlamp internal bulb shields on a 2003 Accent?

Default Anyone ever try removing the headlamp internal bulb shields on a 2003 Accent?
Just wondering if by removing those shields would improve the brightness of the lights, the bulbs I have already have a glare shield on them.

Modfying the headlights is illegal in the US.
