Bike rack options?

Hello. New member and possible buyer here.
I'm thinking about a 2008three-door hatchback. I can't buy if I can't transport a mountain bike. I don't want a roof rack and it seems none are available anyway.
I don't see a strap rack for the hatchback either. Is that true?
Isa hitch availablethat I can mount a rack to?
Finally, if no rack can be found, can I cram a bike in there without the front wheel. Rear seats folded down or removed, of course.

Thanks, Mark

RE: Bike rack options?

I have a bike rack on my ’02 Accent, I think it is a Bell or something. It is not the best but it does the job, it made it to NY from FL, then NYC to Buffalo, NY then back to FL! I checked the tension of the straps with every fill up and it did require some tightening and I did throw some extra straps on to keep it more secure. It is the type of rack that straps to the hatch of the car. I am thinking of doing it again in May, but this time with two bikes….i am going to try it around town first to see weather it is a good idea or not.

The above link has a Class I hitch for the 2007-up Accent (part # 60872). That should be more than enough for a hitch-mounted bike rack

Roof rack permanent

Just bought a 2010 Accent HB and plan to install a Yakima rack with permanent (bolt attached) landing pads for a then detachable rack. Question is has anybody drilled into the roof of an Accent and found obstructions under the roof skin. Somewhat concerned about drilling into hose for rear washer. Other issue was finding a metric eye bolt long enough to screw into tow point in back of front bumper for a tye down point.
