Default brakes... help

Hey im new to this forum and need some help ASAP... my g/f has a 01' Accent... her brakes keep squeaking everytime she stops the car (even when she taps the brakes)... I looked at the brake pads in the front and they seem to be fine... lot of pad still left... so I cleaned the rotors... seemed to help but now they are back to the same squeaking... every shop tells me bring it in... but bein a full time college student and working dont have to time or money to do it ($60 just for them to look at it)... so any advice would be much appreciated... also do any of u know if they make any manuals for the car... like the haynes or chilton manuals... I can't seem to find any [sm=bangbang.gif]... thanks

Default RE: brakes... help

Add some anti-squeel goo to the back of the brake pads. Try scuffing the surface of the pads and rotors with sand paper. That may solve yer problem. I had a squeel on my Camaro, I even went so far as putting new brakes on it it was so annoying. It came back in about a week. Try the cheap stuff first.
