car stalls when full tank

My 96 accent stalls when tank is full but works fine when itsnot (about 3 gals less). Scanned with no OBD error and recently passed emission test. The charcoal canister is about 3/4 filled with gas.

So far I already replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, new plugs with no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Do you habitually over fill the gas tank?

Maybe the canister vent valve or purge valve is not working as it should? The lack of an OBDII code will tell you if the valve solenoids are working but if the line is plugged or kinked then it won't know that.

shoz,

I never overfill... solenoid works alright because I energized it then blow some air and it comes out on the other end. I also put some air on the 3 hoses (2 + one drain)connected to the canister. one of whichflows only in one direction and the other 2 are bi-directional. Don't know if this is normal.

Do you suggest replacing the canister?

Can you blow airthrough the canister when the vent is open? If so the cannister is good.

Solved

200 accent 1,3ltr

i had the same problem.... checked purge control solenoid, replaced spark plugs, replaced coil pack, replaced canister, replaced manifold intake gasket, new MAF sensor...... all over a few months..... then i bought a cheep elm327 bluetooth adapter and saw that the o2 sensor was reading very rich all the time.... and the fuel trim was constantly at -25% to compensate.... so i knew that it had to be the purge valve....

i tried a purge valve from my mothers car (same make and model)... and instantly the problem was fixed.... so i bought a brand new kia purge valve (they are the same valves) on ebay for €40 including delivery, put it in, and did not reset the ecu.... at first, the problem persisted very slightly, but over a few weeks of driving, the ecu learned and now its running perfect....

hope this info helps.... the purge valve was operating with a test voltage, but when under vacuum/pressure, it would stick allowing all the vapour to enter the manifold....
