RE: check engine light

Almost impossible to tell, could be lots of thing. You need to get the code read-out yourself, then we can give you an idea on this forum. If you take it to Autozone, they will do a free code scan for you and give you the codes.

RE: check engine light

Probably a bad spark plug. Start there first. Cylinder #3.

RE: check engine light

Just got back from the dealer they swapped #3 cyl plug with cyl #2

swapped cyl # 3 fuel inj with cyl # 1

reset light said to drive it and when it happens again they can narrow it down.

THanks for your help with all the information
Dave

RE: check engine light

That's interesting! Yes, for sure that will help. Good mechanic.

Hi Dave – Had exactly the same symptoms as you with my 1.3 GLi Accent although I changed spark plugs, ignition leads, but was only cured when the one of the two electronic ignition modules was changed.
The engine check light was reset by disconnecting the battery for a few mins.
Hope above helps – Regards Terry

Thanks Terry for the info. Car has been fine so far they have left the service ticket open so if and when it happens again i will tell them about your suggestion.

i have a 2000 accent and in getting the same thing ive changed my plugs wires and coil and cam sensor and i still get bucking im beginning to wonder if it isnt my fuel pump and or relay weird thing is the problem only occurs when its driving at idle it runs perfect no shakes or stumbles which would be easy to feel since i got poly front and rear mounts and i filled the voids of a stock tranny mount with poly so nothing moves until im driving and it wants to buck down the street.
