Glow Wire
Just wondering if anyone has tried Glow Wire for lighting up dash gauges. My dash inverter is toast and the cost of a new one is 160.00 up here in Canada. The gauge faces are lit within the face itself. Just wondering if glow wire would work in this case, as the gauge faces themselves do not appear that any light would penetrate from the back side. Anyone? cheers! Rick in Canada [/align] |
RE: Glow Wire
Not to answer your question, but in the past I ususally just cut and twist the wires together when mine went bad. It just lights up the dash at full volume, which is what I wanted anyway. It's the 5 cent solution.

RE: Glow Wire
Are you talking about the face lights themselves?...the ones controlled by the inverter and directly inside the gauge face? (not the 2 "normal" bulbs in the rear of the pod). The inverter is not a voltage regulator as such, it also converts 12vdc to ?vac (no idea what the actual output is). What wires are you twisting together?
you're not refering to the dash light dimmer control are you? Cheers, |
