God I feel like BP.
 

So my girlfriend's 04 accent GT is real cute. She has the little white sandals decal on the rear windshield, some cute mods with it, and a nice soaked seat with oil. Lol. A plastic bag filled with 5 quarts of used oil in their plastic quart bottles decided to leak into the plastic bag, and leave a puddle on the seat. That puddle seeped into the foam in the seat, and now whenever someone sits in it, the oil seeps up onto their pants.. (hasn't happened yet, but the cushion on the chair has been soaking it up). My question is, is there a way to remove the back of the seat, and cut the fabric along the seam to take the foam out and dry / wash it out? Or does anyone know a better method? Thanks for the reccomendations.

You don't need to cut the fabric, it can be removed by removing the rog rings that hold it to the frame. However, you won't be able to wash the foam. It will just fall apart. You'll have to get an upholstery shop to replace the foam. Another option would be to find an Accent in the junkyard with the same color interior and just buy the seat and replace it totally.

I was thinking about the junkyard route. I mean I shouldn't really even need to match the color if I still have the original seat right? I could just swap fabrics???

Edit**: Are all 2G accent seats compatible??

They should be but sedan and hatchback are different.

ok so i found an upholstery shop that will do it, i just need to remove the fabric. im pretty intimidated after removing the seat and looking underneath. anyone have specific instructions? I could upload pictures later if that would help

Find out how much the upholstery shop would charge to also remove the covers. Probably not much more.

they said they wouldnt so should i find another place or attempt it myself?

I don't have access to YouTube here but I'd go there and search for videos on how to remove automotive seat covers. Basically you just remove all the hog rings that attach the cover to the frame.
