Default Help with ignition lock

Hello,
I lost the keys to my 1997 hyundai accent and the keys made from the dealer with the VIN do not work( they made them 2 times). I went to the locksmith to have them make a key from the door (my original key worked in the doors and ignition) but the one they made won't work in the ignition-only the door/trunk. Would I be able to drill the retaining pin to free the cylinder? How else could I get the cylinder out without a key? I am having issues trying to get the whole assembly off so can i jsut take the cylinder out?
Thanks and any help would be appreciated

someone has replaced the lock tumbler/cylinder in that case. you'll find removal instructions on www.hmaservice.com. use IE, get an account and download the necessary adobe plugins under site requirements.
