high car idle

I bought a 2017 Accent last month . I love it great car so far. But I feel like when I start the car or just in general it idles high. Just yesterday it was about 50 degrees and it idled over 1000 maybe 1500 . So i just feel like its high . When is "warm up" it around 7-9000 . Just trying to get some info and see what everyone else sits at . Thanks ahead for the input.

A few things can give you a high idle. Some of which are vacuum leaks, coolant temp sensor malfunctioning, charging system attempting to maintain adequate power to keep battery charged etc.

Most cars I know will idle high at about 1000 to 1500 rpm until the engine warms up
Then it will kick down or drop to around 700 to 900 rpm.
That is perfectly normal.
Although at 50 degrees, I would suspect it would kick down more quickly than if it was 30 degrees out.

Just to be sure: that's a typo, right? You meant to write "700 to 900".

Seems normal to me. It could be ever so slightly lower if you put it into "N" and turn off all accessories, in particular the A/C. It then should go up as soon as you put it into gear, turn on the A/C or defrost (which turns on the A/C) or you turn the steering wheel because the power steering puts demand on the engine.
