My 99 Accent just stopped running..
 

Hello i'm new here and i need some help. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the valve clearance ona 99 Accent and the timing of the timing belt? I dont much like being a passenger so any help would be greatly appreciated

Also the engine is factory i was wondering if anyone had any tips on enhancing performance. Since i'm gonna be fiddling around in there might as well get some more juice out of it ;)

mmmmm...bummer, sounds like your timing belt went. The easiest thing you could do is take out the factory air filter system and put in a simple cold air intake. It does make the difference in throttle response and you may see a slight gain in mpg's.

As well as an intake run an exhaust as well. These are the entry level mods that add a little performance. Remeber your engine is like a lung as much air as it breathes in it must be able to exhail as well. If you want to dive right in a lighter crank, forged pistons, performance cams, and a good port and polish and valve angle job are right p your alley.
