Default OEM or Felpro gasket?

I discovered that I had a leaky valve cover gasket. I bought a Felpro gasket which is a normal looking after-market gasket which fills the slot and flares out to the surface of the head. When I went to remove the valve cover, I discovered that it was severely cracked. (I bought this 2003 Accent as used.) So I ordered an OEM valve cover. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that it came with an OEM Hyundai gasket. But the gasket is thin, and inserts into the slot, but has a thin edge. My question is....which gasket should I use? Why would the Hyundai gasket be thin and not flared? Also, what would be the correct torque for the valve cover bolts?

What engine? 1.5L SOHC or 1.6L DOHC?

Usually it's 6 ~ 7 lb.ft

obviously..you should try OEM one. It might be happens that the gasket is designed for all latest models uses same engine as old one. there is nothing like bad effect of the thin one. But dont afraid of the leak problems.it works finely. and the torque required is about 6-7 lb-ft.

The OEM is the thin one. You're saying that it works well? The Hyundai dealer recommends it of course. The Felpro seems to be heavy duty. Still wondering....
