I have a 1996 Accent and I was troubleshooting why I wasn't getting an overdrive OFF light when the switch was selected off.I discovered that the previous owned had cut the wire going to the switch. I reconnected them, the off light then functioned. I went for a test drive and when I selected the over drive the engine roared as if the tranny was disconnected from it.It was like 4th gear was not engaging or as if you put the clutch in in a standard transmission.How is over drive engaged anyways? Is the fourth gear damaged/gone?
