running rough

Hi, my daughters 2000 accent is running terribly rough at speeds up to 30 or 40. Then it smoothes out. I narrowed it down to cylinders 3 and 4 and am sure its the injectors. My question....can i solve this by dumping a few cans of injecter cleaner in the tank...or should I install new injectors...and how big a job is that? thank in advance.

RE: running rough

first things first have you started by checking the ht leads for tracking and also the plugs for wear/gap?

not sure what the ht leads are.....but i know last fall i replaced the plugs and wires with a good quality set. and just today i pulled the injector wires on all 4 cylinders and noticed NO change on cylinders 3 and 4 when i pulled them.....this tells me both those injectors are bad as there was no change when i pulled the wires yes?

I would drop in a good quality fuel injector cleaner, fill the tank with super unleaded, and if the car can be trusted, take it for a good cruise. No stop & go driving. Full bore at 65 -70 mph for about a good 20+ miles. That should have a positive affect on your dirty injectors.
Good Luck,
Brant
