If the belt broke while driving, the pistons probably hit the valves and you will need major head work and possible a new engine. Go to a trained mechanic to have the engine checked. This is not a repair for a shadetree mechanic.

How many miles were on the belt?

Your timing belt should be replaced every 50-70,000 miles. Carmakers have specified the replacement intervals for timing belts.
