Unhappy trans interchange

hello to all. i am new to this forum but not new to the world of forums, i am a mechanic with about 5 years of in the field experience. so i am very knowledgeable on working with just about any part of a vehicle. now that that has been said i have been all over the internet trying to find out what other year transmissions will fit my 2004 accent 1.6L, trans went out today and need to get this accent back on the road. i like this car alot so i want to save it. any help would be appreciated.

codes p0733-734
(codes make me think internal damage, no electrical problem codes)
trans in limp mode
haven't checked pulse generator yet.
i was driving when i had what felt like a slip at 65-75 mph, hard up shift followed by limp mode and check engine light

thanks
(i will gladly help other with other issues)
located near Chicago IL.

well i used my dealership name at a Hyundai dealer and they gave me this. on my specific car, transmissions from sep 1 2002-aug 7 2004 should fit
must be 1.6l. part number of original is 4500-22890 and reman is 00268-22890. local junk yard said 2001-2006 will work 1.5-1.6 i don't think so.....
dealer said trans are specific to production dated due to computer changes

Default kindred spirit

I just bought an '02 (see intro) and found this forum in hopes of expertise to repair it right and make it reliable enough for my daughter.
I've noticed that many posts get ZERO response, which is disappointing. I don't know if there simply aren't enough enthusiasts for this car (it is kinda dull) or what. I am glad to hear that you are sticking around. I am not a mechanic, just a guy trying to get his daughter thru college who can't afford to pay someone to fix an old car. I will gladly get your input on my stuff. I am interested in how hard it is to replace the tranny as mine is having the same fault as many others have of kicking out of OD and staying in limp mode.

I am not certain of interchange but you may be able to repair yours. Have a look at these links -
1.Long read but informative. P0734 Transmission problems - Hyundai Forums : Hyundai Forum
2.Hyundai Accent 2002 1.6 L Auto - A4af3 Tranny - Hyundai Forums : Hyundai Forum
3. My personal experience / how to with my Tiburon , Same repair may work with yours depending on extent of damage to transmission - ElantraWiki - Repair : Overdrive / 4TH gear loss or slipping

as far as replacing the trans it wasn't to bad. i always pull the engine and trans together. it makes it easier than trying to wiggle the trans out itself. if u have a engine hoist that's what i would recommend. this has probably been one of the easiest to pull an engine-trans. i would recommend if your are replacing the whole trans to go this route and do the timing belt, water bump, and any seals you see leaking if any.
