2012 bad oil leak

Replaced rear main seal and gallery cover plate gasket and still have a bad leak. Any suggestions?

Did you clean everything and then look for the leak or did you just assume it was coming from the places you worked on?

As you know oil will leak and run down and if any kind of shelf, like oil pan edge, the oil accumulates there and it appears that is where the leak is , when all the time it is coming from higher up.

Things like brake cleaner will do a pretty good job of dissolving and drying up an oil area. May require a mirror and flashlite to actually see the point of origin..

If there is a large area , it may require 2 cans of brake cleaner to clean the area. Just do this outside since the fumes are not good to breathe. Also , try running for only a few seconds so not too much oil gets all over the place and leak is difficult to pin down.

A blocked/restricted PCV system may be allowing pressure to build in the crankcase and forcing oil out the first place it can exit.

We started the engine with the transmission removed and saw it pouring out of this hole. Will look into it Monday.

Since there is no such thing as a good oil leak ,we would appreciate knowing what you found, thanks.

Oil pressure sending unit, which was under the fuel rail was the source of the leak.

The owners ruined the engine driving it low on oil as the oil light comes on at idle.
