mot fail brake efficiency

hi, i just had my 1997 coupe fail its mot reason being brake efficiency to low, but it passed all the other brake tests, is it just a simple adjust the hand brake job or does it mean new callipers??

First, with is "MOT" brake test?

Second, what is a "hand brake job"?

"MOT" is Ministry of Transportation in the UK. You need a MOT inspection every year, if I'm not mistaken.

As far as your hand brake job, try adjusting the handbrake. If that doesn't work, then you need new brake shoes in the rear.
