02 Elantra P0113 Air Intake Temp High

I have an 02 Elantra GT with code P0113 Intake air temp circuit high. I've looked up the problem on hmaservice, but the photos and diagrams don't seem to match my car. The diagram shows five terminals on the MAFS connector, but mine only has four (not to mention it's in a different place than the photo).

Can anyone help or point me to some basic, accurate troubleshooting steps for this?

Does this problem usually need replacement of the MAFS?

Thanks,

Pete

Intake air temp sensor is different from the MAP sensor. IAT is built into the MAP however. Are you sure your looking at the correct diagram?

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR(IAT sensor)
The intake air temperature sensor (IAT Sensor), built in to the MAP sensor, is a resistor-based sensor detect the intake air temperature. According to the intake air temperature information from the sensor, the ECM will control the necessary amount of fuel injection.

SENSOR INSPECTION
1.
Using a multimeter, measure the IAT sensor resistance between terminals 3 and 4.
IG.SW.ON

Temperature °C (°F)

Output voltage (Ω)
0 (32)

4.5 - 7.5Ω
20 (68)

2.0 - 3.0Ω
40 (104)

0.7 - 1.6Ω
80 (176)

0.2 - 0.4Ω

2.
If the resistance deviates from the standard value, replace the intake air temperature sensor assembly.

A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

* Internally failed IAT sensor
* Faulty connection at IAT sensor
* Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
* Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
* IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
* Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Thanks. Now that you showed me what I should have been looking for I was able to find the proper diagram. I was looking at the specific code info under DTC (which isn't model/year specific, I guess?). Looks like I need to figure out how to use hmaservice a little better.
