Hi, I've got an '07 Elantra Limited auto transmission, 12,500miles, that Will Only Shift to Drive and Neutral
before I can get it to shift into Park or Reverse I need to manually depress the Shift Lock Release on the console where the shift stick is located. What could be causing the trans to only shift when the Shifting Lock Release is depressed? Is this problem a major job to fix? I'm going out of town in two days and don't want to get stuck on the road because of a defective trans shifting mechanism.

Did I do something to cause the problem to occur? I was trying to back up when I noticed the problem.
