1996 Elantra 1.6 gls not starting

Hi , I have an Elantra 1.6 gls 1996 model that doesnot start when I press the clutch down. the engine does not crank. I have to kick start the vehicle whenever i need to use it.

I was told there is a switch on the clutch pedal which I need to check bit i cant seem to find it. please help with the location of this switch.
