2000 Hyundai Elantra
 

Hello I have a quick question. I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra 2.0l auto with 156,000. The transmission is acting up a little. Its having a hard time sometimes shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I just did a trans filter change and all routine maintance. So I'm thinking valvebody is about gone. What other transmission will fit this car. I would like to add more power later down the road. Supposely the elantra tranny is the only tranny that will be a direct swap according to junk yards. Does anyone know anything different.

I think this is a Mitsubishi A4AF2 transmission. You might try looking for cross references with Mitsubishi and/or Chrysler products of the same vintage. I think this tranny was also used in later models of the Accent.
