2001 Elantra GLS P0501 Code HELP!?!?!?
since ive had my 01 Elantra for a couple weeks now its been throwing 3 P0501 speed sensor codes. I ordered a pair of transmission speed senors and ive installed them (the input and output). reset all codes and no check engine light. then driving along pops up the check engine light again. this time its throwing 2 P0501 codes for speed sensors. what speed sensors are left just the 2 on the left and right axle aka the ABS speed sensors?
UPDATE. looked on both sides of the front and the right side has a abs speed sensor but doesn't look fully seated. and the left side doesn't have a sensor at all

Input and output sensors were suppose to be on 2007 and newer models??
As far as I know there is one speed sensor mounted on the driver side's transaxle.
At least that is what the Haynes manual says. I personally never had to replace it.
The abs sensor located at the CV isn't a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). I did replace that ... the bolt was rusted stuck. The bolt head broke off. Then the sensor wouldn't come out.
The p0501 code is for the VSS.
1. It has a supply voltage. 2. It has a ground. 3. And it has an output to the instrument cluster, cruise control, transmission control module and Data Link Connector.
