2001 Elantra recall

I'm new to this forum so I don't know if I'm posting in the right place or not. But Monday on my way home I felt a vibration. Then next thing I know is i can barely control my steering wheel luckily i wasn't on a highway but I get out thinking I have a flat tire to see that my wheel broke off. I call about this recall.

They say my car isn't part of the recall. I ran my vin on carfax.com and this recall showed up as one of my car. What should I do now? I could have been killed if i was driving on a highway.
