2002 Elantra Automatic Trans Output shaft seals

My automatic transmission driver side axle is leaking fluid slowly. I have to replace my lower control so figured I would change out the AT output shaft seal at the same time. I am having a hard time figuring out the proper gasket/seal. I was looking on Rock Auto and it shows SKP has one part 16143 and National has 710976 which says left and 710977 for right. My guess is left and right refer to drive side of the vehicle.

Can anyone recommend a replacement gasket or provide the Hyundai part number for the gasket/seal needed?

Most of the time driver's side is called left.
If you purchase your seals locally, you can always return the unused or wrong seals and usually get a refund. We usually try to stick with OEM when possible , that way you usually get the right parts the first time. Most dealership parts departments will give you the correct part number and they usually need your VIN so there should be no mistakes..I can understand trying to save some $$ buying from a local auto supply store or on line. But, people do make mistakes and that can tie up your vehicle.

Cool, thanks. I don't have a dealership close by with a reputable parts department. I guess I can call the next closes and place an order.

Placed on order online with a close to local dealer and the price for both seals was $23.21 and a 3-5 day wait.
