2002 Elantra Sunroof

My wife got into her 2002 Hyundai yesterday and opened the sunroof for fresh air. She got it to open as normal, but when she went to close it, it wouldn't move. Now it is open and all I get is the clicking from the switch to close it. I've checked the fuses and all are ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There may be a problem with the motor. Do you have the owners manual? Pages 1-42 and 1-43 show how to close it manually.

Excellent information on that fix..we should have that in a DIY forum for all the members to see...

I really appreciate the quick response, I'll try that right now. I was told that this is an after market sunroof, but I'll see what I can find. Thanks again. I'll tell you what I find.

If that's true we probably can't help much. The best way to tell if it's original or aftermarket is by the front interior light. The second page I listed shows the difference between the interior light of a car with a factory sunroof and the interior light of a car without a factory sunroof.

If this is anaftermarket sunroof, it would have and interior light of a car without a factory sunroof.

Well, could find nothing to hand crank the sunroof closed. I took the map light unit down. I took the entire system out and there was nothing there except four holes for me to remount it back into the roof. I found out it is an Inalpha Sunroof system and I am getting ready to contact them. If you have any other ideas, I am extremely open to suggestions.

Yeah, I'd try contacting the aftermarket company or maybe going to an installation shop that does aftermarket sunroofs.
