2003 - Is the gear shifter illuminated?

I just noticed that my wife's 2003 Elantra doesn't have an illuminated gear shifter. I never drive it, and she doesn't remember if it's supposed to be lighted or not. It's just impossible to see at night, so I figure it probably is supposed to be lighted.

So my question is, is the shifter illuminated? And by shifter, I mean the P-R-N-D-D3-2-1 in the center console of an automatic. If it is, any pointers on replacing the bulb?

Thanks!

I have an '03 Accent automatic and its indicators (P-N-D, etc) are all illuminated. Guess you have a bulb out??

(not sure how to get at it....)

My 05 Elantra AT shifter is lit. I haven't changed the bulbs. Actually, I've covered the shifter with a boot anyway since there is shifter indication on the instrument cluster:

Anyway, if you want to change out the bulbs I'm sure the first thing you need to do is remove the center console. It's actually quite easy: There are six screws, three on each side near the floor. You may have to move your seats to get to them all. Once they are out, you can lift up the console from the back, over the parking brake handle and shifter knob (move them around to ge the best access). Once the console is out I bet you can get to the bulbs in the shifter relatively easily.

Are the rest of your interior bulbs working?
