2005 Elantra Alarm
Hi,
This problem started 2 weeks ago; the alarm will sound intermittently and will keep going off every 5 minutes. So far I have tried these dealer recommended suggestions: 1. Inserted key into ignition - turned it to acces position 2x within 5 seconds this was suppose to reset the alarm; 2. Pulled the neg battery lead for 5 minutes to reset the alarm; 3. Activated the alarm, opened the door (which sounded the alarm), got in and turned the key to the 'On' position and waited until the alarm finished its cycle and immediately thereafter starting the engine; Either way, the car will automatically lock the doors and activate the alarm, and sounds the moment you unlock with the key...so I have to lock it with the key before IT does it. Otherwise the alarm will go off a couple of hours later... All the door and trunk lid switches are working, as they indicate on the dash board if anything is open. I can't find the switch for the hood... so where is that located?. The 05 did not come with a valet switch...so what else can I try? Thanks  |
The hood switch is on the passenger side of the car:
