2005 Elantra - A couple of questions

Newbie here!
Can anybody tell me what this part (the one in the center) is and what its purpose is?

Also, where is the intake valve control solenoid located?

That is the oil control valve that opperates the CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) system.

What do you mean by the "intake valve control solenoid"? I'm guessing you mean the valve that controls the cam timing advancing and retarding. That would be the CVVT oil control valve pictured above.

We used a code reader and the code was P0077, and that code is for the intake valve control solenoid, which is why I was asking where it was.
The oil control valve does not show up in my repair manual, which is why I was asking what it was.

EDIT: I took it to a Hyundai dealership and we were informed that our problem was indeed the intake valve control solenoid, which is under the intake.
I don't know what it is, but that's what we were told.

Then yes, what you have pictured is what you are looking for. That oil control valve controls the oil flow that adjusts the intake cam timing. P0077 means the OCV control circuit is open or short to battery.
