Default 2008 Elantra OBD1 or OBD2 and where is the port???
Hi all, my girl friend has a 2008 Elantra that she had since new. The check engine light comes on now and again and I think it may be the gas cap. NOW, I have a trouble code scanner that fits EVERYTHING from 1996 through 2011. I found a port under the hood just under the windshield drivers side marked diagnostic. This plug is the old OBD1 connector. How can this be??? I looked under the dash and found no other port there. Dose anybody have a clue about this????

My wifes 07 has the same port.The scanning port is to the left side the sterring colume at the bottom edge of the dash

It should be OBD2.... can you post a picture?
