2009 Elantra suspension thud/rattle

Now I hear about Sonatas having suspension rattles/thuds and was just wondering how many get this with their Elantras? I have it over the right rear and the dealership changed my two sway bar links but that did little to nothing. I have been hearing mine since new or for a long time anyways and know of a few others the same as me. I believe something is wrong because I only hear it on the right side. I also only have 17500 kms on mine. Also anyone who does not hear this please reply too. Thanks guys

So after returning today for another 'check up' on this situation they the dealership says it is the shock and I will have to come back when they get the replacement in. After being in there about four hours today let's hope it's fixed.

The problem is not the shock, it is the bump stops. They are too long. Hyundai replaces them with a shorter one.

New shock, same rattle/thud.

Dealer is now opening a case with hyundai canada. They know there is a problem but have no clue how to solve it. Wait and see for now. I have mentioned the bump stops as well.

Your noise, is it front right or rear right ?

It is over the right rear. It is really noticed over the smaller bumps and lower speeds but is also heard at higher speeds too. Very, very frusterating.

Service Manager tells me becoming an issue with rear rattles for Hyundai. I have to wait till they solve the problem. Tomorrow I am calling hyundai canada to hear their side of the story.

The problem is the rear shocks. Hyundai will be coming out with a 'new and imporoved' shock ! Just be patient for a little while. They will replace them under warranty. The shocks that your dealer has now will not solve your problem.
