2010 Elantra Fuel Economy

Just purchased a 2010 ELantra L 5 speed. The fuel economy is no where near the advertised. I have put 1500 km on the car and it has not improved. I drive normal and shift the gears when suggested on the dash light. No racing starts high revs etc. Been driving standard for over 20 years. It is all Highway driving I do with no stop and go. I am getting 600 km per tank of gas. Which works out to approx 8.3l/100km. The rating for this vehicle is 5.9l/100km. Anyone else experiencing this???????

I should be getting another 250 km out of the tank!!!!

My 15 year old toyota tercel with 400000 km got better gas mileage.

It's winter, it's cold, no one is getting good mpg. I'm now lucky to break 30 mpg. In the summer I constantly get 32+ (mixed highway/city).
