2010 Hyundai Elantra Blue Headlight Wiring
My wife owns a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Blue. I am trying to wire in a headlight and I need too know the function of the following wires: There are two black, two green, one yellow, and one pink(or white) color codes. A total of six wires. Can anyone tell me what each wire is for?
If you want to know exactly what each wire does, suggest you purchase a cheap test light from any auto supply store and connect the ground clip to a good ground and then turn on each function and that color wire will show power is being supplied to it. Not all schematics are accurate, the test light doesn't lie !
I have an even bigger problem than that. I ordered a headlight (Part No. TYC 20-6811B) from carparts.com and the square socket did not fit the existing plug because the plug was round and the socket was square. So I cut the wires (probably made it worse) and purchased a square connector Kaifa Part No. PB625-06027. The problem is figuring out the pin functions on the headlight assembly socket, so I asked for a diagram from TYC and I think they are going to pass on my request to the manufacturer in Taiwan. Assuming that I don't get the diagram how would you figure out the function of the pin numbers on the assembly socket? The new connector is color coded but I can probably figure out which color is associated with each pin on the connector using an ohmmeter.
Good news. I was able to open up the rear compartments on the headlight assembly and saw the wiring. It too was color coded. I hope the colors match the the ones on the new connector. Otherwise I have to figure out which is which.
