Does anyone know what years/models I can use a spare tire from for my car? The tires are 17in however tha owners manual says same spare will fit 15/16/17 in tires. My local junkyard has a couple of 2005 Elantras as well as some older years. I don't know whether they still have the spare tire but would like to know what I could look at for the tire.

 

2007-up Elantra will work. 2006-older is 4-lug.

 

Thanks to all for the information. Don't know if this will help anyone however the owners manual for the 2012 says the spare uses a 4.0T X 15 wheel

 

Full size spare 205/55/16 fits in spare tire well. Tire and rim from discount tire $140.

 

I don't like the emergency tire repair kit in my 2012 Elantra. I would feel safer to have a real spare tire, so just ordered a spare tire kit from Amazon.com. It is supposed fit my Elantra (and Veloster). $200 + $20 shipping.
