I've got a 2012 Elantra GLS model with the usb port.

I stick a 16gb USB key in there with my music. Now, i don't like to put them in folders because i want to be able to put it on RANDOM and randomize the entire usb key and not just within the one folder (unless someone can tell me that i can randomize the music across the usb key even with songs in folders!)

my concern is.... some songs show up as "NO ARTIST" but the folders and properties all have the artist info in there. I even checked the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags and theyre all filled out.. not sure why they're not showing up on my display in the car?? (only happens wiht some songs..so there must be some property that isnt filled..) anyone have any idea?

so to summarize my questions:

1) can i randomize my entire USB Key even with songs within their old folders?
2) What properties must be filled to show the artist name and song name in the display of my car?

 

Whoa, just got ours Wednesday, haven't gotten that far with the USB specs. Glanced at it but didn't focus on it because I was looking for something else at the time. Subbing for results.............
