2013 Elantra EPS Light

I went to start my car and nothing "turned over" but the EPS light was lit. (Radio, headlights, everything was on except the engine.) Cranked the key several times and the engine never turned over. About the 5th or 6th time it cranked right up. (And the EPS light turned off within seconds of the car being cranked.)

Next day, I turned the key and it did not crank, however I held the turned key for about 5 seconds, the engine cranked and again within seconds the EPS light went away and never came back on.

Next day, NO issues whatsoever. Cranked it several times throughout the day. (Never drove it though, cranked it and let it run for a few minutes and cut it off.)

Any clue what is going on????

Sounds like a bad battery connection. Possibly corrosion on the battery terminals. That's where I'd check first.

This worked a treat with my Hyundai ix35 Highlander. All symptoms above showed that the battery although working, seemed it needed a jumpstart.

Thanks everyone!
