Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Elantra '97 front brake disc/rotor removal seems impossible after days

Hello, please excuse my English, I'm not too knowledgeful on mechanical names and such.

I have recently bought an Elantra '97, and we have tried replacing the front brake discs/rotors for days. The rotor is completely free/not stuck and it moves around, but the circular thing that holds it stuck and which has the bolts for the tire just won't come off!
We have hit it with a small sledgehammer for almost a day, used a wedge, yet it stays stuck. We did expect it to be rusted stuck, but now we are beginning to doubt as it's just too stuck. Is there something else to it?
We've also searched around the internet for anything related to this, and nothing is specifically about the Elantra '97, so we remain unsure.
I did though find something on it on these forums, but I wasn't 100% sure I could understand it and it sounded like it was a piece of cake to take off, which it clearly isn't.

Any advice would be greatful.

You WILL need to get complete bearing and seal sets for each side..

You will need to remove knucle and take to shop that can press the works apart, and carefully assemble with new parts,,, don't forget to lube the bearing(s) when assembling..
