Engine vibration

Hi
Did any of you guys experianced vibration from the engine which starts from around 2800rpm and
up, and its really transmitting in to the cabin. The car is 2000 Elantra 1.6 Gls.I dont think its the engine mountings as they seem ok, but that its something more serious, allthough the engine is running nice and quiet with no funny sounds.
Any Ideas will help.

Is this car a U.S. model Elantra? I didn't think the Elantra used the 1.6 liter engine after 1995 or 1996. Is the vibration felt inside the car both going down the road and standing still if the engine is rev'd up to 2,800 rpm? Is the vibration felt in the steering wheel as well?

RE: Engine vibration

I live in South Africa, and the vibration is there when engine is idling but not between 1000 to 2800rpm when standing still, but everything above that it starts again. And you can feel it on the steering wheel and the rest of the interior. The car has 100.000 miles with FSH, and its manual.

RE: Engine vibration

i have experince vibration interion and steering wheel when i'm going btn 60miles to 75mile which isaround to 28000rpm. the solution to this problem is balancing ur tires(especially front tires) i dont think is engine issue. when i did that i discovered one of my rim was bent, the rims are easy to bent if ur drive in port holes roads also check ur CV joints.
