Fatal accident 2011,or ;12 Elantra
 

Please help, my daughter died in a fatal accident involving her Elantra, I need to know if these cars record data when the air bags deploy, I really need to know Throttle position and other details at the time of this fatal event. Her car left the road, jumped a curb and hit a huge tree, it made no sense, this was a single car event, the cops suspect a medical problem started this, several others and myself combed this accident site for clues and found nothing, no skid marks, I suspect that she blacked out and smashed the gas down, if this car has an event recorder it would answer a lot of questions. Here is page 1-6 of the 2011 Elantra owners manual. I would assume it's the same for 2012. I believe only a Hyundai dealership has the equipment to retrieve the data.
